As inspired by the Carthusian monks who wrote anonymously, Mary Mary is a pen name in honour of the Marys in the Bible.
Mary who sat at Jesus’ feet and listened to what He said. It was the one thing necessary. Mary chose the good portion which would not be taken away from her.
(Luke 10:38-42)
Mary Magdalene who stood weeping by Jesus’ tomb, and who was the first person the risen Christ revealed Himself to.
Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news: “ I have seen the Lord!”
(John 20: 11-18)
Mother Mary who said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be done to me according to your word.”
(Luke 1:38)
Her fiat bore Christ into the world. “Let it be” are such beautiful words to be pondered and treasured in our hearts.
